”When I installed them, several games started refusing to go fullscreen, despite saying they were in Fullscreen in their options. Among them were Tomb Raider 2013 and Dirt Rally. I rolled back to the 378.xx drivers and my games worked fine again. This “Creator’s Update” support these drivers claim is misleading. As pointed out in your bullet points, that’s for the WDDM stuff, which 99% of us will never use.

Previous versions of the drivers work just fine in Win10 CU. I installed this on the creator’s update and found the system was in dreaded black screen (couldn’t render desktop). I tried to remote in (using the latest splashtop) and found only Metro apps would render via remote control and while I can see my mouse pointer move on my physical monitor, it remained black with the spinning wheel I booted into safe mode, uninstalled these drivers and reverted to the old drivers problem went awayI tried it again, with the same exact results. This is on a 1080gtx.
Just as a note, I removed all drivers and reinstalled an old version (361.81!!) for my GTX 770 on Win10 x64 CU. The games are back with excellent performance, no stutters, nice as butter, just as I remember they were months ago.Of course I don’t play modern titles, like BF1 or similar (I play mostly simulators, like Assetto Corsa, IL2 Stalingrad, DCS series, Rise of Flight, Arma 3, rFactor2, etc). In short: a bunch of DX9 and DX10/11 titles without “special requirements”.So, I came to conclusion that if I’m using an old hardware, there’s no point (yet) to upgrade to newer driver in fact, I could almost say that every new driver in last months took away a little bit of performance, so if it isn’t absolutely necessary in order to play a specific title or to really solve a problem, there’s no rush to update. I was assuming that new WDDM model and such would require new drivers to be able to take full speed/advantage – but apparently I was wrong.Of course I do try new drivers from time to time to see if there was a gain in performance, but there’s no harm running old drivers on new Win10 CU. This info may be handy for those without latest gfx.
